Last updated: 22 September 2026. This policy covers the ClinEdPulse iOS and Android mobile applications and the ClinEdPulse API that powers them. It is issued by ClinEdPulse LLC.
This document does not replace the website-only policy at clinedpulse.org for marketing pages. If you use both the website and the app, both notices may apply.
1. What we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect:
- Account data: name, email address, password hash, and a profile photo you choose to upload.
- Professional details you optionally provide: NPI number (looked up against the CMS NPPES registry), institution email, specialty/hub and topic follows.
- App activity: saved videos, watch progress, event registrations, and live Q&A messages (including image or PDF attachments).
- Case submissions: de-identified clinical text and optional images you attach, plus HIPAA and educational-use confirmations.
- Hybrid (in-person) registration: contact and mailing address, profession, degrees, specialty, organization type, and payment status. Card data is processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Device data needed to run the app: authentication tokens in the on-device keychain/keystore, and crash/network diagnostics generated by the operating system. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the current app build.
2. How we use it
We use this information to create and secure your account, personalize educational feeds, register you for events, process hybrid-event tickets, host live Q&A, review case submissions for faculty discussion, and meet legal obligations.
ClinEdPulse is independent medical education. The app is not a medical device and is not for diagnosis or treatment of any patient, including you.
3. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only:
- With subprocessors who host or operate the service under contract (cloud hosting, email delivery, object storage, Stripe for payments, YouTube for embedded video, an image CDN used to resize public thumbnails, and the CMS NPPES NPI registry for optional credential checks).
- With affiliated ClinEdPulse educational hubs when you follow those hubs or register for their events.
- When required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in a merger or acquisition with equivalent protections.
4. Retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Me → Settings → Delete my account) or via the web deletion form. Deletion removes the account and associated personal data we are not legally required to retain (for example certain payment records).
5. Your rights
You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, and you may withdraw optional consents (NPI, photo, case submission) by updating or deleting your account. Email contact@hemehub.org.
6. Children
The app is for healthcare professionals and adult learners. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
7. International transfers
Data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. We use contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
